Exfoliate Your Own Face

Facial exfoliation is one way to remove dead skin cells. In addition, exfoliation is also useful to brighten the skin, disguise fine wrinkles, and prevent clogged pores.

You don't have to go to a beauty clinic, you can just exfoliate your face at home. To be safer and not trigger irritation, you need to pay attention to the following:

The first thing you need to know is to choose an exfoliation method that suits your skin type. You can exfoliate your face mechanically or use chemicals. Mechanically exfoliate your face for dry, sensitive, or easily pimpled skin, you can use a clean washcloth or cloth. As for oily skin, you can use a tool in the form of a soft face brush, including those that use a rotating machine. Scrubbing is also a mechanical exfoliation method that can be done, especially for oily skin. Normal skin types and combinations can also use scrubs. However, this method of exfoliation is not recommended for sensitive and dry skin.

Alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) are a chemical ingredient that can be used for dry and combination skin. Oily and prone to acne can use skin care containing retinoids, salicylic acid, or glycolic acid. As for you with sensitive facial skin, you can use beta hydroxy acids (BHA).

If you use exfoliation of the face with scrubs or chemicals, take it enough and don't overdo it. Then do the exfoliation with a gentle circular motion. When using a brush or washcloth, do it with a gentle swipe, forming short lines evenly. Do it for 30 seconds, then wash with warm water to clean.

For normal to dry skin types, facial exfoliation can be done one to two times a week. As for combination and oily skin, exfoliation can be done 3-4 times a week.

It is important to note, you need to avoid exfoliating the face if there are open wounds or burns on the skin of your face. Also avoid using exfoliation products for other limbs to the face, because the formulations are different and can trigger irritation.

Facial exfoliation does not always have to use facial care products sold on the market. You can also make it yourself, with natural ingredients that are easily available, such as milk, honey, or ground coffee.

The following is an example of how facial exfoliation uses natural ingredients, which you can do yourself at home:

Mix ½ cup of sugar and 2 teaspoons (tsp) of olive oil. You can also use ½ cup of ground coffee, 1 cup of brown sugar, 2 teaspoons of powdered milk and 1 teaspoon of honey.

After all the tools and materials are ready for use, clean your face and wash your hands thoroughly.
Take the mixture to taste and apply it to the surface of the skin evenly.

Then, rub it gently and slowly for about 3-4 minutes.
After that rinse your face using warm water and dry it.

Finish by applying moisturizer to your skin.

So that facial skin is always clean, bright and well-maintained, don't forget facial exfoliation as part of your skin care routine. If you have a history of allergies or sensitive skin types, you are advised to consult a dermatologist first, to ask for the product and how to exfoliate the skin according to your skin condition.
